THE CHEF

Hello! I’m Michael Goode, owner of Roc City Ramen. Born in San Leandro, California, I moved to Pittsford, N.Y. with my family in the early 80’s.

My mother, born in Kagoshima, Japan, has been cooking Japanese cuisine for most of her life. Since a young age, I have been intrigued in the art of Japanese cooking.  Helping my mother cut vegetables for curry and folding dumplings for dinner was where it all started. Under the tutelage of Brooklyn Ramen NYC, I have learned the art of making broth and am continually honing the skill.  With the help of my mother’s recipes, we have created an authentic Japanese ramen experience.

THE RESTAURANT

Roc City Ramen is a dream of mine & my mother and with her help and expertise, we have made it come to fruition. Starting as Brooklyn Ramen in November 2017, our counterparts in NYC helped us make our dream come true.  Lending their expertise in broth and combining it with old family recipes we have come up with a traditional (non-fusion) Japanese ramen noodle house.  We are dedicated to bringing the Greater Rochester Area top quality ramen, kare & gyoza to all. My team and I are proud to announce the opening of our NEW location at 229 Mill St in heart of downtown Rochester. Please come enjoy the fruits of our labor and come by either one of our locations.

Thank you for your support and we are happy to serve you.
